Chickens

We have both coop and free ranging chickens in a variety of breeds. These include Nankin, Rhode Island Red, Cochin, Americauna, Wellsummer, Astrolorpe, and Old English. We generally have spare eggs to sell from March to September-the blue easter eggers are a favorite! All birds are tested yearly by the NH Department of Agriculture for common poultry diseases.

Rabbits

Our angoras include a chocolate named Cocoa Puff, two gray sweeties-Runtly and Bella, and a lovely Fawn named… Fawn. They are brushed to gather fiber which is spun pure or as a blend.

Cream the rabbit is still here, and at six years old, she is as spry as ever, escaping whenever possible to chew the runners from the apple tree.

Sheep

Our Clun Forest sheep are a fantastic backyard breed. They are a true tri-purpose breed, prized for their meat, milk, and wool. The meat is slow growing and tender well past one year of age and has a very mild lamb flavor. Their milk is high in butterfat and is plentiful, if you are inclined to milk. Clun Forest wool is springy and resists shrinking or felting. It wears sturdily and is excellent for socks and outerwear.
The rest of the flock is one half to three quarters Finnsheep. Their fleece is excellent for felting, luxuriously soft, and fast growing. The babies tend to come as triplets and are tiny bundles of sweetness.

Turkeys

We grow broadbreasted white turkeys each summer and are currently enjoying a flock of Royal Palm heritage turkeys. Whole birds are available at Thanksgiving for your dinner!
